Let's start with the fact that you failed math.

I think you need to work on your reading comprehension before you try to correct others' math.

I get that $10,000 could be beneficial to some people, but semantics aren't pointless and are there for a reason. Spreading the wealth is a good thing, but it has to be done logically. If you're gonna spread it by the $10,000 it's still not gonna affect a lot of people. Many people who buy these tickets feel it will solve their problems, but as a form of gambling it just creates more problems. The only good that really comes from the lottery is that it pays for public education. Yes, politicians literally gamble with children's education

so you understand that i'm saying to give out $10,000 prizes, you can see that i haven't specified how many people that would actually benefit...

other than by avoiding it, please, where is the math that i have failed.

Just realized I got super off track there. But, what my original point is that the lottery is a short term thing and all economists will tell you the best thing you can do if you do win it is take the lump sum and invest it into portfolios with good returns. Spreading the wealth may be morally fulfilling, but it don't so $#!+ in the long run, even for the people who get that wealth boost. And if you do give enough to make a difference in somebody's life who needs it, you won't be able to do that for many people.

how can math be done when only one number has been mentioned? it's like trying to paint a wall without a wall.

You said $10,000. I've already been doing the stats for it for people in poverty in the US and that only comes to about $30 per person in poverty. Enough to buy a couple of pizzas. So, I'm wondering where this magic $10,000 is coming from.
