Socialist models have been successful in many countries such as China, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, New Zealand, Belgium.
In america it was campaigned as evil during post war political campaigns as being synonymous with german communism, and the stigma has remained til this day in america.

There was the post world war communist party which Hitler opposed and banned after he stole power. Both socialism and communism are considered the same evil in American eyes.

i do agree that it is viewed as evil in american eyes. Also I am an american communist and people think that "i need help" and i am "demented", just because they lived through the cold war era.
