Thanks for asking. I'm new to imgflip and haven't generated any of my own images yet. I found this one by searching for "trump." I would gladly cite the source, but I don't recall seeing any information about the user who contributed the image originally. I agree that it is well done, particularly when you look at the blending of shadow around the jaw.

Cool, welcome, keep up the good work. Half the battle is finding a good image. The other half is getting something original to "featured" status. I still haven't figured that out :)

Yeah, there's no rhyme or reason. I've had some original templates featured, which is great. Then, sometimes, I'll use templates that are in their directory or library and they don't get featured. I've had three memes make the front page so far, and they were just spur of the moment things that I thought would be funny to me, never expected them to get much traction. So, you never know what you're going to get, just have fun with it.

I think that is the ultimate challenge, coming up with a good, original image that people will want to use. But I agree with you, it's supposed to be fun. And when you overthink the caption or the image you can lose whatever it was that struck you as funny to begin with.
