Yeah... Yeah, in this context I think you are absolutely right. People tend to be extremely superficial and to banalise things beyond ability to understand them at all. In fact, for example, when we come to terrorism done by muslims and the quotes from Quran... The Bible contains parts which actually justify genocides and extermination of entire countries and people inhabiting them. None of the monotheistic religions is actually normal. Because, as you've said about the ocean, there religions were created, and written thousands of years ago and reflect the atmosphere of those times. They were actually some kind of a progress in the time they began. But nevertheless, they contain things that were normal for the age they were created, but are extremely barbaric for modern day humans. But still, most of the people today more or less, do not follow these problematic parts of the 'sacred' scripts... While some do, because of their own currents in their psyche, and also, because of the political games twisting their lives upside down.

That's also true. People don't know that there were actually 72 evangelical scripts that were examined by the Roman authorities when they were making Bible, they chose just four of them... Their validity is questionable. And I mean, it is clear, when something is being made by the authorities and served as a belief of its citizens, you can very well be suspicious about that text. But people do not think, they just take what's been repeated for them enough time through their life for granted, and they actually consider you a fool when you point out facts like these.
