Just another change, I guess. I don't particularly like it, but oh well...

Imgflip, instead of dealing with the root cause of downvote fairies, is I guess trying to handle it a different way. They should find ways to stop downvote fairies, like requiring an upvote on another meme before allowing a downvote, so the votes are spread around (like a net positive for each account). I'm sure there are ways. Downvote reputation as well to prevent accounts downvoting multiple times in a short period of time. Hiding dislikes is just wrong...

Or I guess people could stop being upset over downvotes and just make memes. I'm not a big crybaby, so downvotes don't mean much to me. Just don't feel like it makes sense that there would be a down vote button if you can't see the downvotes, you know.

Yeah that's true too. Not upvoting is like downvoting in that way. Then they would need to deal with upvote fairies. Some people (I think - not me!) upvote everything because they get some points for it (I think). It makes sense to reward participation as long as accounts are not just going upvote-crazy. Or alt accounts that only upvote their own memes which could also be possibly detected.

What I think they should be doing away with is the "anonymous" option. Just my opinion, though.

Yeah, I don't think anonymous should be a thing. And "made by a redditor" And I'd like a filter to filter out "one-off" memes made by people who just wanted to make s meme for them self, and probably didn't realize that they didn't need to submit it, in order to share/download it.

Yes,all they need to do is create a meme and hit the "private" button.
