They hated me in school... I'm white, but I'm not American, and my ancestors were poor. I would argue that I was the true minority whenever we did social discussions. Granted this was literally decades ago... But I'd ask, 'How come all whites are grouped together, all blacks have to be from Africa? If they get to be African American, why can't I be British American? Why am I only classified as white?'
