On an equally unrelated note...

I'm guessing by the timing this is relating to the Melbourne Cup, a public holiday centered around a horse race, and the fashion has become synonymous with the races. The women dress up with expensive outfits, and it's quite a thing for girlfriends to have a "Cup Day Lunch" out somewhere. Prettymess is pointing out that we don't need to have a reason such as the races to get fancy, especially considering the treatment of the animals in preparation for, during and after the race. Quite a related note, actually

pretty sure it's not just limited to Australia, or horses. whenever people want to use an animal for a purpose, it tends to not be in the animals' interest. racing, pedigree showing, farming etc. before china got involved, tibetans used to work their animals every second day only- one day working, one day rest.

Yes.. All of this! This meme was created in relation to the Melbourne Cup but sadly animals are mistreated much more regularly and on a much broader scale than just the Cup.
Wasn't sure at first if you were trolling klkitchens, but i guess Australian races and events aren't common knowledge worldwide.

I don't really expect other countries to really know about Cup Day, as it is I only learned about the US's black friday stuff last year after hearing people talk about it. What I don't like is people who don't understand something or aren't familiar with the reference displaying negativity. If it doesn't make sense, find out or move on
