Off subject.. but can you please explain to me what "trolling" is on this meme site? I see a lot of comments and accusations on this. Excuse my ignorance on this.

I'm probably not the best person to ask (there are people who have been on here a lot longer than me and who have a lot more encounters with "trolls"), but I'll give it a shot.

Basically it seems like there are certain people who adopt a particular persona online and write comments in order to cause/stir a reaction from others. In other words, they write comments that are not necessarily truly their own views in order to cause a particular reaction. One example might be a person writing inflammatory comments about a controversial subject, with the goal of purposely triggering an angry reaction from others. But that's just one example.

I don't think it's unique to imgflip. It seems to be routine to see that kind of behaviour in most (if not all) places that have discussion groups, especially if there's some level of anonymity.

I don't know if that helps or not.

I Googled it.. appears to be "intentionally inflammatory" and often misleading. I have made many controversial memes.. but my intentions are to provoke thought.. NOT anger. I guess what I'm missing.. is how someone is labeled a troll on imgflip to generate points. I am unfamiliar how getting someone riled up in a comment section can do that. I've seen some heavy name calling and sarcasm in the comments.. but it is often in response to a haters comment. I saw a few memes directed at tetsuowrath or referencing him as a "troll".. but he's always polite on my comment section.

I wasn't referencing you brother.. in case it came across like that. I was referring to the big egos that have a lot to say.. on little or incorrect information. I see comments on IMGFLIP that often support gun control,.. shariah etc.. and their "egos" are making the comments. . Based on info from the liberal handbook.

No offense taken ... I still need to bridle my tongue!
