Yeah, I want to see Han. It's true that he's getting old, but he's classy! The more he's in the movie, the better. :)

Sweet. Yeah Firefly was awesome. Fox was stupid for cancelling it. And I think Whedon would have made a better choice for SWTFA also. He'd probably would have convinced Disney to go the EU route too.

I'll keep that in mind as I go through the Kermit/Connery memes. Out of curiosity, is my Doomguy in there too? lol

Oh and I have the hammer now, thanks Socrates/Invicta103/Evilmandoevil! You guys are the real MVMM(most valuable meme makers)! :)

I think I remember seeing two Doomguy memes in the war. Hopefully yours is on there. :) If not just comment with the link near where my comments are so people can see it.

Congrats on the hammer.

Thanks Socrates. And I'll post the link if I don't see it. You're awesome dude! :)

Indiana Jones 4 The Crystal Skull. It was okay, but didn't feel like an Indy movie. South Park even did an episode that showed Steven Spielberg and George Lucas raping Indiana in several iconic movie rape scenes like the Deliverance Ned Beatty scene. It was pretty funny. :)

I didn't mind that one as much as #3 (and anyway Harrison Ford was good in it). The first 10 minutes (when he escapes the nuclear bomb) are just about the best opening of any movie I've seen. The jungle stuff was good too, and the whole relationship with Marion and Mutt was great.

The only thing I didn't like was the aliens. I thought it was a silly ending.

Seeing the mom again was my favorite part. i loved her in the old Indy films. Shia is better in this than he was in TF to me.

I just kind of sided with SP about the intro of aliens in Indy. To me, it didn't fit. But they did have that 1000 year old templar and ghosts already, so it's definitely within the realm of possibilities for an Indy film. lol

The way he escaped the nuke was another thing that irked me. Not only would the impact kill him from internal injuries, he would have also fried in there. Nukes are so hot right now/ever. lol

I also hate that they waited till he was old to do Indy 4/SWFA. But what is done is done. I'll tell you my favorite Harrison film though is Blade Runner. Followed closely by The Devil's Own. But if you ever sit through Anchorman 2, you'll probably hate his role in that. He's too over the top in AM2. I still love the old space pirate though. :)

Yeah, I know it wasn't realistic, but I loved it - the whole thing with the Russians on the base and everything.

Well I guess all movies are going ot need a suspension of disbelief, but the ones we love the most will get the most scrutiny. lol :)

Do you ever think about whether or not the Star Wars memes you're making might actually be helping promote the Force Awakens, indirectly?

I don't want you to stop making them - I like them - but by putting the pictures in front of people and discussing the issue you might be drawing attention and interest from those who otherwise might not have been as interested.

What do you think? Is that a possibility?

For example, ever since I saw your memes, I have started searching info about the movie online, which I hadn't really done much before. I don't know if that will affect a ticket purchase in my case - I was probably going to see it in the theaters anyway because my family likes big movies like that, and I'm curious about it.

I just noticed I called Bill Bailey's character Frodo. It was Bilbo though! lol :)

I know what you mean. But I think the people who end up seeing it in the theaters are the people who were always going to go see it. I don't doubt that Disney will make their money back and most likely will profit from it. It's the aftershock that I'm betting on. People are going to have a TPM reaction to it afterwards. They won't sell nearly as much merch as they want to because of it.

I'm not worried about my memes contributing any success Disney's way. If anything, people who read them will help the idea spread that Disney has killed Star Wars. :)

I wasn't trying to discourage you in any way from making your anti-Disney memes. You're really good at them, and I'm sure you'd like it if they prompted others to do the same.

I was just curious if you had thought about the place of your memes in the lead-up to the film. I think you're right to say that most people who would see it would have seen it anyway.

Are you going to protest the screenings lol (ie get a group with signs saying Disney killed Star Wars and picket the front of the nearest cinema)? :)

Well to be clear that's my speculation of the origin of the Lucas/Prequel bashing. People were mad about the special edition changing Han shooting Greedo first before the prequels and Spaced.

Spaced is definitely worth a watch though. It's got to be in the top five of best TV hows of all time. And it has a lot of quotability and many meme worthy moments. The slo mo gunfight for one thing. All 12 episodes of Spaced are on youtube here's a link to the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHc0VDdhXVQ A lot of what was in Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz came from this show.

Sweet! I'll check it out. But I'll warn you that I'm partial to Connery over Kermit. He's Bond and a Highlander. lol :)

I'm with Kermit, but the list is just all the memes I could find on imgflip, on both sides (but only up to the time of the "Kerminator" meme - a couple weeks ago).

Thanks for the link to Spaced. I probably don't have time to check it out right now, but I'll keep it in mind.

I'm definitely going to check out that list of memes. The Kermit/Connery war is hilarious. And it's neat to see all the creativity that comes from it.

If you get into Spaced, it's all there on Youtube to watch. Glad I could introduce some new stuff to you. Spaced, Clone Wars, and Rebels are all great shows. Did you ever watch Firefly? If you like the whole Han Solo character, you'd love Firefly. :)

I love Firefly. I thought Joss Whedon would have been a far better choice to direct Star Wars than J. J. Abrams.

Warning re: Kermit/Connery memes. I didn't use any selection. Both good and bad are there. It's just a comprehensive list (all the ones I could see by scrolling the Latest pages from the original meme that started it up to that time). But I did put a little tagline with each to hint at what it is so you can remember not to go back to bad ones.

Yeah, I like the Kermit/Connery war too. It's cool to be part of something like that.

Oh I totally felt you on your last post. And I have thought about what if my memes just make the film do well instead of hurting it. lol Of course I'd rather the memes cause a cascade effect on Disney's funds causing them to go bankrupt. lol That would make me so happy.

When TPM came out it took a while before hearing comedians and everyone bash it, but I think it all came from Simon Pegg's character TIm in Spaced. He represents a fan who saw ANH in 77 in the theater and he refers to TPM as a pumped up version of a child's toy advert. And when the character BIll Bailey plays(Frodo) tells him TPM was 18 months ago Time(Simon) says that it still hurts. And it shows Tim burning all his SW stuff like Luke burning Vader's body. Then Frodo(Bill Bailey) tells him what about the ewoks? THey were rubbish but we all loved them. And Tim(Simon) says yeah but Jar Jar makes the Ewoks look like f**king Shaft. The same reaction that Simon Pegg's character Tim had to TPM is my same reaction to TFA. With the exception though that I'm actually pointing out flaws in the film. Tim was just unhappy with Jar Jar really. lol

My point in that last huge paragraph is that I think that's where the whole Lucas bashing/TPM?prequel bashing came from. Once a show started pointing out what they didn't like it snowballed until now those same fans who hated TPM are wanting to see TFA in the hopes that it's not the same exact effect. Too bad for them though, it is. When the film comes out and after I've seen it, I'm going to go through scene by scene to show how it parallels the PT and the way it rips off the OT. I'm also going to have a field day with all the new meme material that will be in the film.

I'm not going to protest it at any theaters though. There would be more people there that are into Star Wars as a sci fi film than actual fans(people who read the books). And I know that makes me sound mean that I'm not including people who only watched the films as real/true/actual fans, but to me they're just fans of sci fi in general. Star Wars just happens to be sci fi. :)

I haven't seen Spaced. It's interesting (since you mention that Simon Pegg's is the one that started The Phantom Menace bashing), that he's featured in the comic con promo you linked to me, saying how working on Star Wars is like a dream come true.

I was joking about the protesting at cinemas. But yes, I'll look forward to more of your memes about it. I see it differently than you do but I like seeing your views and I like how passionate you are about it. So please keep going. :)

Re: Kermit/Connery memes. I put some of the links to the earlier Kermit/Connery memes (with brief descriptions) in the bottom of the comments of my "Kerminator" meme if you scroll down. :)
