Although I disagree with and find your argument rather misguided, your articulateness shows that you are intelligent, but I don't think anyone is smart enough to be able to say what a group of people that they (obviously) never even met from the 1700s were thinking even if it fits into your agenda and opinion. I don't know if you are against gayness because of your religious beliefs or something else, but everyone should have the right to be treated equal as long as they are not hurting someone else or infringing upon their rights.
While you and Kim Davis apparently see homosexuality as an abomination, in reality their rights to get married can not affect your life unless you allow it to. While my picture was a personal attempt at humor, to get serious for a minute, the point being is, she broke the law. Regardless of the possible mindset of our "Founding Fathers" the right for gays to become married nationwide has just been passed, so it's pretty safe to say what the majority of our elected officials/our citizens and the Supreme Court thinks about gay marriage. We are a democracy and because of that times change and so do laws. If she feels that she can no longer morally do her job because of the law, she should quit. I think that this concept is easy enough for an 8 year old to grasp.
