Quran is very different than in media, but the fact that recent suras are more important than older ones, makes its interpretation very difficult. In fact, Quran teaches to cheat on enemies of the Islam, until Islam have enough power to destroy the infidels. And my source are scholars who really knows about Islam.

In Quran "infidels" being rapists, murderes etc. who are have willingly chosen that path and won't give up.

infidels does not mean all non-muslim people.

When terrorists kill cnristians or gays they are infidels. When terrorist kill american soldiers or civilians they are also infidels and NOT all american are catholics or gays, and most of them arent rapists or murderers.

Terrorists are infidels themselves. Taliban and Daesh are infidels, too.

The problem are islamic terrorists and the islamic people who support them, even if they do not fight.

The problem is deeper than that.
Those who terror and those who support terrorism are not "muslims". They are being called "muslims" by media for certain goals.

The problem is that they addresses themselves as muslims, not that only that media call them that.

Also, Islam has banned any attempt to murder or violence unless self defence. But no one ever who makes conclusions about this religion has never ever read the book once. Thus the meme. :)

If I want to explain in very very simple words I would put it this way:

If I wanted to destroy a muslim country, and I didn't have enough good reasons, the whole world would become against me.
What I would do is I make up these little terrorist groups to represent the world of Islam. And since I own the media I'd be showing my own creations 24/7. Naturally, there are people who fall to join these groups without knowing the truth behind it. And but by bit it turns into a real civil war.
And I gain the privilege to increase my influence in that region (war on terror huh?)

Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria are examples. Next up is Iran. ISIS is originally made to represent Iran. You have probably heard of Khorasan Group which is like a second name for ISIS and there's only one place called Khorasan and that's in Iran. I can write a book about it but.. if you want to find the big "WHY" you just have to search for these words:

Sorry man, but i do not only read the book, but study it with knowlegdable people, who actually live in middle east. I know what I talking about.

Not saying you don't know what you talk about. I'm just a shia muslim in iran who is giving you first hand information. :)
We are helping the people in syria and lebanon, who are muslims. but we are also fighting daesh/isis, who are muslim. (or actually claim to be muslims). in every news channel you kinda see iran as a supporter of them, yet, iran is the only country fighting those terrorists seriously. in one night of operation they killed 200 isis fighters only with 20 men. but us/israel always try to show they are fighting the terrorism, yet they have not killed like 200 of them altogether.
