try downloading the template, customizing it with some image manipulation program, then uploading your modified image

Click "upload your own image" directly underneath the current image and a box will appear that allows you to get an image from your computer and name it. Check "allow image to be displayed in public template directory" if you want other to be able to use it and/or you want to be able to use it as a meme comment. Then click the "upload" button and it should show the image you just selected and allow you to make a meme with it.

I mean adding a custom image to a meme, because there is an option for that.

Not sure I get what you mean. Do you mean adding another image to a meme in addition to the main image?

There's an "add image" button right above the meme image, which should allow you to do just that.

Are you on a mobile device or a PC? Also what browser are you using?

I'm on a PC with Google Chrome.

Not sure then, I have used it fine on both PC and mobile, both using chrome. My last suggestion is to try firefox.
