Our Founding Fathers are as far away from fascism as you can get. On the other hand, the collectivist spectrum is divided on degrees of authoritarian control. In theory it’s for “the greater good”, but it is control nonetheless. Fascism is a short step from collectivism because the systems of control and the mindset that people under control can be sacrificed for the greater good are already there.
