I'm more than aware of all of this, both in regards to light refraction and religious history. I almost captioned the lower half of the meme as "the rainbow is actually a Judeo-Christian symbol" but decided not to bother. Furthermore, Christians hold to the same story that Jews do in regards to the rainbow symbol because they read the same [translated] Old Testament Tanakh (not just the Torah - the first five books). Honestly, it's just a meme intended to make a small point that the symbol does not explicitly belong to the gay community, because religious communities view it as a symbol as well. But OF COURSE, trolls must come in here to talk about the science behind rainbows as if to suggest Theists are not more than aware of this. Plenty of Jews and Christians suggest that the conditions necessary for this meteorological phenomenon to occur did not exist prior to the Deluge, so when we understand that rainbows are formed through the reflection, refraction, and dispersion of light in water droplets, it by no means proves that it isn’t a religious symbol to them.
