...because he doesn't want to pay 500-1000 dollars for his kid when he can afford a multi-million dollar car...

Because killing murderers and unborn, non-living people are so similar.

I just got back from class, and was able to refute your arguments, the debate is not over...

I myself would not want my wife to ever get an abortion...but I support abortion for 3 reasons:
1) Rape; many women are left with a child that they must bear due to a man that raped her
2) Certain women may not be willing to deliver a baby (men should not be allowed to outlaw it, because they don't go through what the woman does, however...in a relationship, I believe that the husband has a right to a say in the fetus' fate, as long as he stays a parent and supports the child throughout his life), also...teens getting pregnant is also a problem, they are not ready to have a baby and start a family, instead of going to College
3) Outlawing it would promote unsafe abortions. Regulating it keeps the mother in fair hands, and getting the abortion has limits, whereas if it were outlawed, someone might get an abortion in a back alley, while the fetus is in the 6 month stage, which I believe...Is morally wrong

Also, I would like to point out that many medical practitioners would lose their jobs if safe abortions were outlawed

One of the reasons stated that some women are unwilling, or simply can't afford (because our medical system is f**ked up) to go through with her pregnancy...I know because my sister is one of those people

I'm sure there are very few babies aborted because the mother was a rape victim, so I don't think the fear of rape or incest is a reasonable excuse to allow millions of abortions every year. That said, I would be willing to make a exceptions for those circumstances because the number would be so low.
Women not wanting to take on the responsibility is no excuse. Back during the 50s and 60s women had very few options for daycare at work, they were stigmatized if they were single and sent away from their families if they were teenagers. These days teen moms can bring their babies to school. It's not nearly as taboo as it was forty years ago. So those arguments are outdated.
Contraception is widely available to everyone. They hand it out in schools. In life there are risks and consequences. If you're irresponsible and don't use contraceptives then you run the risk of changing the course of your life. As a society we make laws based on morality and ethics all of the time. If abortion was illegal there would be fewer abortions. If someone decides to take the risk of an illegal abortion then they might face certain consequences.
I think the u.s. has come a long way in helping women who find themselves in all of the above situations. People need hopeful words when they find themselves in challenging situations. They don't need the media telling them their lives are ruined because they are pregnant. Though it may be difficult they can get threw it if they keep moving forward.
My wife and I were 16 and 17 when our firsy son was born. His birth saved our lives. And he turned out to be an incredible man who serves in the Air Force. You just never know till you try.

I also, am planning on serving in the Air Force, however, My argument on women choosing not to do it because they are not ready for it, was not implying the care of the child, but rather the birth of the child. Echo's every 2 weeks and the actual birth of the child cost money...a lot of money. This is why I support healthcare reform, mainly because regular citizens, millennials, vets and others don't have good access to healthcare. I was also implying that the birth itself can be very hard on the woman...I'm saying lets not outlaw it; because that would have other unintended consequences

I have a family member who was born with a severe cleft palate. Today many people would have a baby aborted for far less severe deformities than her's. Fortunately she was given the chance to live. Born into a large poor family, she is the phoenix that rose from the ashes. She is a social worker now and helps other people through their hard times. I'd rather live with the unintended consequences of fighting for the right of unborn babies to live, than live with the alternative.
