What i'm saying is that the word "racist" is too often applied to bigots or people with fairly benign prejudices. I think demagogues prefer to use the word because it invokes a guttural response from people. It's a better word to fire up the masses. When obama described his grandmother he used the words "typical white woman" thus implying she had certain prejudices. He didn't call her a racist because she's probably not. Instead she is just somewhat of a bigot. if obama called his GM a racist, well who knows how that would have gone, but it wouldn't have been as easily brushed aside as the term "typical white woman". In fact the term "typical white woman" is a bigoted prejudicial term, but it would be absurd to label obama a racist for using it.
