Hi James. If you are joking. Haha. If you are trolling. That's actually wrong. More than one imgflipper has liked many of my previous memes. Oh, and go f**k yourself.

The above, if it were a joke, would be something like, "This joke is kinda lame," I shall make fun of it." Trolling would be like, "I disagree with your viewpoints, therefore I shall be a dickhead and go out of my way to make you feel bad."

That's how I would explain the difference. Trolls are just scumbags, poking fun at a joke by LIGHTHEARTEDLY criticising it is joking. There is a difference, and in today's "Oh, muh feels" lack of reality, it's hard to say that any statement, no matter how ridiculous it is could offend somebody. Context is missing. That's why I try to not immediately judge a seemingly critical comment without asking the author the intent of the message.

You can rib on the comment, I don't have a problem with that, but purposely making a "You're a talentless hack" comment because you disagree with me statement really isn't constructive and rather rude and unnecessary. I hope that helps explain :)

Not that I'm accusing you of being a troll. But trolls are trash, and I've learned enough about this life that bad people will try to bring you down, and I'm having none of that.

I think I get what you are saying: so it is the intent of the commenter that makes them a troll? But I defer back to Willie Wonka: Offense is taken, not given. I would suggest that even if someone is trying to be a mean troll they can't offend us unless we let them by taking offense. If I see someone I think is trying to be mean I just laugh at them because they can't offend me or anyone else unless we let them.
