There's this tank game I play, with a bunch of different weapons, and people complain when you use the long-range weapons to camp. I mean, seriously, how do they expect those weapons to be used, melee fighting? -_-

Shafts. They camp, I don't really care, you wouldn't expect them to always use arcade mode and be liek: "Meh no snip, no funz. I go head to head combat wit u nub, I predict me win k." Then the shaft gets insta-killed by a Firebird.

The only turret that you could use for melee combat is basically Smoky. Like you said, I'm not going to think that a Shaft would be travelling with me to get the flag with his fat mammoth xD

Me: "Lets get the flag, no more camping. Come on dude"
Shaft: "Wait, wait, it takes time, I'll catch up."
*Freeze turns the corner*
Shaft: "AHHH KILL IT WITH ARCADE MODE FTW!" *Shoots the Freeze, ineffective*
*Freeze kills them both*

After they re-spawn:

Shaft: "I almost got him man! He was cowering with fear bro!"
Me: *Facepalm* "Actually, just go back to camping."

Of course, there are Wasp-Shaft combos, but in that case, you might as well use Smoky.
BTW, I wasn't just talking about Shafts, I also meant Railguns, Thunders, and Vulcans.

Railguns and Thunders are actually pretty good at getting flag and such :P

Vulcan and Shafts are primarily the only turrets that you should use to get flags.

Railgun and Thunders are good at getting flags, I agree. Just not so much at up-close. They can only take out the defense at a distance, rush in, and then rush out, spawn-killing.
Or just camp :P

Railgun is really bad up close.

Thunder is FAIR up close. It's just the splash damage that would hurt his tank.

That's the main reason why I think it would be bad up close.

I actually got banned from a server for "being idle" when I was a sniper. I was just freaking standing still!

That's what I meant! I was standing still so I could get a better shot! I was a sniper! (And not a very good one)
