I tried to explain the first two Hobbit movies to my friend once. It took nearly 2 hours of extensive googling and referring to my copy of the book every 10 seconds

So um this guy, his name is Frodo. He has um this like evil ring and he has to um destroy it in the only volcano in the land. The volcano just so happens to be in the enemy base so him and a friend go march in the back door and destroy it.
