I guess that would depend on where your computing interests lie. I do not typically play games. I build media servers, file servers, web servers, cloud servers and experiment with micro-controllers (adruinos) and low power (raspberry Pi) computing. For my purposes, Linux is a better fit. Besides, I can run literally any Windows application via WINE HQ or run Windows through Virtual Box. Now, I am also aware that one could run any flavor of Linux through Virtual Box on Windows but it is less common to do so. Windows has steep system requirements. I can run a media server with Linux off of a raspberry Pi that is the size of a Roku box with a twenty dollar hobby solar panel. That is not possible with Windows. Now, if you are a gamer, Windows is definitely a better fit.
