I've resorted to upvoting any new memes I see with obvious malicious down votes

No offense, but what you're pretty much saying is that you didn't up-vote memes before because you liked them. But you are just starting to do it now because malice is involved? I'm sorry but that attitude is wrong and people need to up-vote good memes regardless if there was malice or not. There is a huge lack of that going on on this site. on one meme, I had 12,000+ views with 34 likes and 2 dislikes. That's insane. Numbers don't add up. People seem to enjoy our memes and share it, but can't bother themselves with one second to like/credit us for us wasting our time trying to make someone we've never seen Laugh.

I always upvote funny memes regardless, its the malicious down voting of other new memes that all have 3 down votes that doesn't even give them a chance to get featured. I only upvote those to correct the imbalance, otherwise they'll go back to submissions with no chance of getting to the front page.

Well in that case I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed. Maybe those Memes that got down-voted just plain suck. You can't deny there is about 1 in 10 odds of a good meme on here. Most of it is clutter. If everyone either down-voted or up-voted every single meme based on how good it was. The site would be a lot less cluttered. Problems arise because too many of the people on this site are young kids who don't understand half the jokes and down-vote the either out of ignorance or just plain trolling. It is very annoying.
