Gas prices are just one factor. Pork is high because there is a disease killing tons of pigs. Because of that, there is more demand for beef which in turn raises the price of beef. Seafood prices depend on who good the season is for harvest. I live along the Gulf so we hear on the news a lot whether it is a good season or not. Fruits and vegetables are also effected by climate. With all the cold last winter especially in areas that usually don't get that cold it hurt the harvest.
