An assasination is when a professional killer(assasin) is hired to kill someone no matter the importance. A murder is when someone just does it themselves.Kennedy was assasinated by pros. Abraham Lincoln was murdered because Booth killed him himself. Anyone who says he was assasinated is just simply using the wrong word, but it really doesn't matter at the end of the day people understand the guy is dead.
