The parents, in their statement, made the issue about race... "how the police deal with citizens of color" ...instead of making it about how the police deal with a citizen *brandishing a gun at people walking by*, which is what he was doing. That rookie cop was absolutely going to pull the trigger when the kid reached for his gun *no matter what color that kid was*!

Let me be clear... It makes me very sad that it happened at all... but that kid was playing Wyatt Earp with real cops, in a city where a kid with a gun is often not just a kid at play.
