True. The popular music genres are kinda moving toward each other, decreasing the distinction between them. Partly to blame is technology, where musicianship has been allowed to greatly decline (for instance, drummers have been mostly suplanted by drum machines; 'singers' can use devices, like AutoTune to rely on to sing in key; and tape loops, sampling, and sequencing have made production the only thing that's important)..... The only places where music remains with integrity, are the 'pure' genres, like classical, bluegrass, etc.... but these aren't popular enough to be widely promoted to the masses...... or something like that
