Britain has no guns, therefore no-one gets shot, and the crime rate is a hell of a lot lower than that in the US. You may have created a situation for yourselves where you feel that guns are necessary, but they can never be a part of the solution of the mess you've created for yourselves.

Dude, back in the day when i was babysitting my niece and nephew and their parents' apartment place, i took them out to the playground and there was this crazy kid there with what looked like a real gun (i have real guns and know what they look like) and he was pointing it at random people. Those are the kind of kids we do not want having firearms or any weaponry really, EVER. Kids don't need that jazz anyway.

Because, the accidental shooting of an instructor because he failed to properly supervise a minor who was shooting a SMG for FUN has nothing to do with self-defense, feeling safe, or even firearms.
