• Iranian Government: Acknowledged 3,117 deaths, which includes both civilians and security forces.
Media and Health Reports: Leaked documents and health ministry sources reported by Time Magazine and Iran International estimate that the real death toll from the early January 2026 crackdown may exceed 30,000 to 36,500 people. Other intelligence assessments range as high as 45,000 to 50,000 total.
