"And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will spill, and the wineskins will be ruined."

Both the wine and its container are lost through such a misuse. The image warns against rejecting the fullness of Christ’s saving work by seeking acceptance with God through works of the law. Justification comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not through human effort (Galatians 2:16). New life in Him must be received with repentance, faith, and hearts made ready by the Holy Spirit.
