You’re right. You’ve heard of people who wear glasses being called “four eyes”? That’s two for each eye, so I was making a joke that the spider has “fourteen eyes”. Not a funny joke I guess.

Ya, and it should have been 16 eyes if this spider had the correct number of eyes.

I guess the artist didn’t do his research on how many eyes a spider should have.

You don’t really need to do research. It’s more just common knowledge

Some spider species do have less than 8 eyes. Some species of spiders have as few as 2 eyes. Spiders who live in caves.
