The higher order is a divine group, who gives prophecies to angelspeakers, chosen to give messages from the higher order. Their leader, omnia, created the mortal word as it’s known now. Long ago, lapsus disobeyed the higher order, and was banished to the distant void. He formed a group known as the distant rebellion, and they worked to claw lapsus out of his prison. One day, they had a breakthrough. He was freed again. Sensing imminent conflict, the higher order gave the first prophecy to a angelspeaker, marionette. With the guidance of the higher order, she gathered a group known as the Divine resistance, and as the prophecy said, a storm arrived, and with it a war. The higher order and the divine resistance fought tiresomely against the distant rebellion, but at last, they sealed them away to the distant void, but many millennia later, they’d rise again. Stronger. Six prophecies, eight wars, two plagues, and a massacre later, they rose again. Under a new ruler. An ex-anglespeaker who rejected the higher order. The seventh prophecy was coming, and the rebellion would only fall when the broken host and the cold soul were one again.
