i agree fascism and communism are bad, but i hate the stigma around socialism because people automatically assume it’s scary stalinism bad ahhhh command economy scary someone protect the poor quinvigintillion dollar corporations
also people assume that socialism and communism are also authoritarian, which they aren’t, both are economic systems (like capitalism), unlike fascism which is a more societal/governmental system
the logical conclusions of them are absolutely authoritarian when you look out how much the state is able to enforce in those governments
it doesn't matter how utopian they pretend to be, the state intervening in the economy and monopolizing services used by people will inevitably lead to a larger government and in turn will very easily lead to authoritarianism
socialism seems good in theory until your way of "holding companies accountable" also involves creating a new rule class of politicians and elites
