The brief period where big-time Youtubers (or their editors...IDK who does it) would always write their own subtitles so YouTube couldn't screw them up was great. I especially loved when they included silly jokes in them as well, such as when Markiplier would add humorous descriptions of how he looked while trying to keep a straight face in his "try not to laugh" videos.
Also, they seem to have recently updated the captions in order to make them a bit more accurate. A few weeks ago I started putting captions on in videos again, just to see how wrong they could get, and was surprised to see that they were actually quite good for the most part.
