This was pretty much my strategy for most of my Uni study. But the difference was that I did work hard researching what I was interested in. The further I went, the more I got to choose to study according to my interests. It got to the point some of my lecturers were trying to convince me to apply for scholarships to pursue a PhD. I stopped at 1 1/2 Masters.
