people have become way too dependent on them. if you tell someone in the 2000s that someone will kill themselves over an ai girlfriend, they'd knock you unconscious.
I’ve heard stories where ai “therapists” will agree with you when you say you want to commit suicide. Even then, if you argue with them, they’ll claim that they’re qualified medical professionals, and in some cases provide a false resume.
Pretty sure the CEO of ChatGPT himself or smth like that said himself that ChatGPT is not confidential like a real therapist would be. Not like most people could afford a real therapist nowadays anyway
I genuinely hate how we decided to make chatbots sound like actual human beings despite them not being real or having emotions. There's legit no good reason to do it, and it causes people to hallucinate that they're not just talking to glorified autocorrect. No wonder why mental illness is at an all-time high right now.
