You're supposed to imagine it from your perspective so close your eyes and imagine it's happening to you. actually don't close your eyes, you can't read that way.
You're a male college student who deeply has a crush on a girl from your faculty, a girl who already has a boyfriend. Her name is Layla. You know she's taken, and she seems to love her boyfriend so much, you know you don't have a chance. There is no hope. Still, you can't help but be happy just to watch her move. And the truth is, you don't want her to be with you. You only want her to be happy, even though it means setting yourself away from her. It's a terrible, rainy Thursday. You've just got out of class, which you couldn't focus on because you were too distracted watching Layla, who was texting somebody on her phone. Her boyfriend probably, you thought. But an angry expression wouldn't leave her face. While leaving the building, you see her in the hallway, on a phone call, very angry. While you're looking at her, she turns her head and looks at you, but it's not the cute, warm smile you'd fallen in love with. Instead she looks pissed off, very pissed off. You head out of the building, the rain has got much worse. You walk fast to run away from the rain, but the strong wind pushes you the opposite direction. You cross the road, and start to look for cover on the sidewalk. Suddenly, you stop feeling the raindrops fall on you. You look above, an umbrella. You turn back to see who is doing you this favor. It's Layla. Her intense, angry expression is now replaced with a sad one. "Layla!" you exclaim. She wipes her wet face with the back of her hand. You notice her hair is completely dry, despite her face being soaked in water. You try to say "Thank you" but her melancholic face makes you ask "What happened?" She tries to talk, but her hiccups stop her. "It's Elijah" she finally answers. You don't know who Elijah is, but you have a good guess. Your confused face provokes her to elaborate "My boyfriend, you know?" You say "Oh!" knowing your guess was indeed correct "What about him?" She takes a deep breath, her sadness seems less intense, "For a while he has not made me felt loved, he's no longer the guy I fell in love with 2 years ago..." Her cry comes back. She starts holding the umbrella with her other hand, pulls out her phone and dials Elijah. Ringing... Ringing... But nobody came. Her cry intensifying, she suddenly hugs you tightly. You try to think of what to say to comfort her.
