It was originally a dystopian book series about a society separated into districts that serve a crooked capital. As punishment for a rebellion many years earlier, the capital decrees that every year every district must send one boy and one girl to a last man standing competition in an arena, known as the Hunger Games. The series spans 3 main books and 2 prequels, and has been adapted into a movie series, which has seen high profile actors star such as Jen Law, Woody Harrelson, Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Banks. It is my favorite book and movie series of all time, and is highly heralded by book and movie fans alike.
