The Ankylosaurus magniventris was 10 meters or 33 feet long, it weighed 4.8 - 8 metric tons or 5.3 to 8.8 short tons (US tons,) the animal was 1.7 meters tall at the hip (5 foot 7 inches tall at the hip.) The animal could swing its tail club with a force of 7,281 to 14,360 newtons of force or 1,637 to 3,230 pounds of force (rounded up*) which could easily break bone and shatter armor. While the animal was a herbivore, that didn’t make it harmless, and it could deliver lethal blows to predators and herbivores alike. The animal’s armor was made out of bony osteoderms which made even the Tyrannosaurus’s bone crushing bite ineffective.
