Yeah... That seems like what happened to me.
Except that it was more like
I was with person1, person1 and I were both friends with person2, person2 is dating person3. Person3 is incredibly toxic and when person2 talks about breaking up person3 says they will "off" themself. P2 does end up leaving and P3 "dies" (they are yet to die whatsoever). So yeah, all is dandy, untill P1 says that we should slow it down. I'm talking to P2 at the same time and they say that "the stars aligned" which basically means they are with P1 now, and have been for a couple days.
Anyways, P1 and P2 have sense split up, P1 is not the most mentally healthy, and I'm close friends with P2 now. (I'm still friends with P1)
