Basically The Roaring will create a Dark Planet, the creators of which will become gods of that world
They want to use this power to fix their problems (they each have family issues)
Gaster creates The Soul in the hopes that it will aid the Roaring, putting Kris in charge of it
Instead, The Soul actively moves to sabotage TRG, and helps The Fun Gang instead
