The great Pacific war started when Auroria flew their planes in Springstruck airspace. They had bombs equipped, so Springstruck anti-aircraft shot them down. None of the Aurora pilots survived, as they were just trainees that got lost during a bomb exersise. Auroria at first was very pissed at the Springstruck government's actions, but when it happened again in Winterstruck, Auroria had enough.
Auroria shot down 15 Springstruck civilian aircraft flying over them. No one survived.
All allies of Springstruck, United Cleave and Winterstruck, immediately declared war. Warlands was an ally of United Cleave, so they joined too. New Vulcan was an ally of Auroria, so they joined Auroria's side.
The war started in May 2009. It went on for nearly 2 years. By July, Springstruck was annexed, and in December, Winterstruck surrendered and became a puppet of Auroria.
United Cleave was doing horribly, as New Vulcan cut all their foreign aid, and Warlands was holding on fine, apart from losing some land.
By April 2010, the United States, United Kingdom and Spain intervened. Many meetings took place. Auroria would not give up. New Vulcan stopped helping and became neutral due to the economic crash severely scarring them.
On April 14th, United Cleave finally was able to combat Auroria, as New Vulcan left. United Cleave and Warlands then invaded through all of the Pacific Continent, and forced Auroria to surrender.
This is why Auroria has territories taken from them. Shortly after, New Vulcan and Warlands founded the PTA, or Pacific Treaty Alliance. By March 2026, New Vulcan, Warlands, United Cleave, Winterstruck, Auroria, The United States and Springstruck are in the alliance.
