its not like fiction but we do have the ability to use brain surgery and make a prostetic limb that feels real, we also have the knowledge of how to make a mechanical eye though its not public yet as far as i know, we know how to make telepathic communication again with brain surgery, one time someone was completely colorblind and he had an antenne stuck in his brain so he could hear the colors giving him the ability to "see" UV light
