I think because Cars 2 identified as a sequel to Cars 1 although Mater was the MC instead of Mcqueen. If Cars 2 was identified as a spinoff and had a relivant title to the mater and the plot, It would be more liked

They're upset about something being "out of place" in a series about living talking cars with faces

I haven’t watched it in a while, but all I remember now is how actually kind of gruesome it actually is
