“The Man Without Fear” meets “Heroes on the Half-Shell”…

Eastman and Lair (TMNT creators) were influenced by the then current writter of DD (Frank Miller) and made the turtles' origin as an homage to DD's, with the Ooze replacing the radioactive isotope that hits a young Matt Murdock in the face.

I love those early Ninja Turtles stories. They were far fiercer than they were in the 80s cartoon and a lot of the later versions of the series.

I like some of the modern artstyles, but classic stories.
