or because ai centers take up a shitton of resources and money while there could be an entire population of homeless people living literally right next to it watching all it’s money go into a generative ai model
also because it kills jobs in pretty much every industry involving creativity because it is cheaper to have a robot generate concept art or polish an animation than it is to pay a willing artist
and also because it incentivizes creating completely abhorrent physical creations, you could go to any local flea market and buy dozens of 3d printed ai design doodads or 1 billion percent polyester sweatshirts with ai generated fire and ice wolves as a jpg poorly stretched onto the shirt design, whatever it is, it will outlive our grandchildren’s grandchildren rotting forever in a landfill in michigan with said ai generated trinkets probably living to see the death of the west at the hands of nuclear warfare
not to mention all the psychosis and suicides that have been caused by chatbots (also generative ai!)
generative ai is not just stealing from digital artists to make poor-looking yellow tinted drawings
