Lastly, a world I've been developing, the WIP name The Gifted Series.
I personally believe the bible is real, the earth is only 6,000 years old, and that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead so we may be saved. So I wanted a world where I can do fantasy and later on sci-fantasy that reflects biblical morals, like Tolkien's works do.
Again, it's a WIP, but I think the way it works is that Magic is a type of energy that exists. Those that can harness it are Gifted, their powers called Gifts. This leads to an eventual story where the theme (or one of them) is that everyone is gifted, even if not with magic-wielding abilities.
These gifts can manifest in different ways, but they generally are familial or clan based, with one clan having DB type ki powers, another manifesting powers similar to the Force, etc.
And those gifted can also have there physiology changed. So everyone is human, but this gives us elves, dwarves, etc.
Alright, now that worldbuildings out of the way, my first story is medieval times. We have a group of probably 4 friends exploring the world. At least 1 rogue, 1 healer/fighter, and your typical soldier/fighter class. This last one however, is descended from dark lords a few generations back. He feels a pull, maybe hears a call, to an underground fortress. He goes in the night. The friends follow. He transforms, gaining a Sauron-like suit of rock armor, fighting the friends, and pretty much tossing them aside. As he goes deeper, the hotheaded rogue takes him alone, and is stabbed. Luckily the healer notices, and DL looks right at her, but he doesn't do anything as he is called deeper. So he leaves, the healer patches the rogue up enough for them to move him, and they leave.
That's the opening sequence. In the end, it winds up with confront DL back in the fortress, but the healer is now backed up with power and is able to bring DL back to the light, who breaks the generational curse on his family.
