No young adults worked as many jobs for so little pay, even while still doing school, which has so much more homework than it used to, plus getting shot at in school (if in the US) being a highly likely cause of death for the young, and dealing with stupid ass adults ruining the world, fascists, etc. Older folks that say that shit are either nostalgically blinded or lying assholes deluded by propaganda.

Actually in the 1970s you could still get burgers for a quarter some places and times. We had a burger place right down the road from where I grew up that offered 4 for a dollar burgers but had to switch to 3 for a dollar around 1980. But to be clear at the same time in the 80's you could get giant super burgers with multiple patties and extras like bacon, avocado, etc. for like $3.50 - $6.50 as the new trendy thing while 3 for a buck burgers were still being sold elsewhere.
