What is this lore and why am i invested in it

There was gonna be a little comic about this one but this panel was too cool to not leave as a wip

The lore for this one is
A villain fights against a group of heroes. She mocks the group about "the power of friendship," says she harnesed it too and summons her friend who does this the moment he shows up.
Crimson is merciless to anyone who dare scratches Abyss, spelling certain demise for the heroes.

And the gist of the lore between these two characters

Crimson, an undead and broken man. Full of trauma and severe self loathing. At first he reluctantly teamed up with Abyss seein he has nowhere to go. Now jes lukcy to have a friend that accepts him, even for the monster he thinks he is. And he will do anything to keep that bond.

Abyss is a wannabe evil sorceress. She doesnt have a sad story. She just wanted to be bad. Seeing Crimson as a ticket to big time villainy she became his partner in crime. Over time she found that she can trust and confide in him when she feels down.
