I dont get the biologist and astronomer one

In astronomy 3 centimeters is nothing

Im not sure about the biologist one but astronomers tend to make very sweeping observations that are incredibly broad. If an astronomer thinks that a planet is a certain diameter in size and it turns out they were only off by 3 centimeters, that's still a ridiculously good measurement
