Yeah, a villain is someone who actively tries to torment the protagonist, a simple antagonist is just an obstacle the protagonist has to face. If Death in pib2 was a mere antagonist, he would simply do his job, but Death is a villain, meaning he is maliciously tormenting and hunting Puss throughout the story. That's why we dont get it when someone tries to call him "not a villain"

Ye if death was merely gonna ask puss to value his life,he would be an antagonist.
