Being a goaltender for waterpolo is the most psychological aspect, each goal that gets past you makes you think that it’s your fault when it really ain’t your fault, it’s the players for not helping you. Losing nine in a row? Yeah, I was getting more and more frustrated at how we kept losing, but I had to put on a good face and keep going with the nice attitude. Though I accepted losing and put on good sportsmanship while we shook hands. When we finally won against the rivals, it felt like heaven, being able to win after all that time.
Though, what it’s like being in the game? It’s hard. There’s a lot of action, you have to eggbeat in the water to stay up when you’re passing or shooting, and when you’re goaltending, you have to manage the net and have to do a constant eggbeat in the water and you have to “jump” with your arms spread out to catch the ball. You can’t have the game ball go underwater, and unless you’re the goalkeeper, you can’t have two hands on the ball.
